Week 6: February 3 – February 9, 2019

The Nest is about a dysfunctional family of siblings and their sought after trust fund. You grow to understand, tolerate, and even love this group of misfits, each with their unique strengths and weaknesses. And, leave it to a baby to bring everyone together - well, almost everyone. There’s always the black sheep that strays.

My favorite character was Beatrice Plumb, with the exception of her ever-longing approval of her brother Jack, but she seemingly, finally, does her own thing. Way to go Bea!

There is one thought in this book that stood out to me and made me question my own relationships, “Did loving Leo make her a lesser version of herself?” ~ something to keep in mind when self-reflecting (page 275).

The Nest, published by Harper Collins is Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney’s debut novel, soon to be a major motion picture.

I hope you enjoy The Nest ~ there is sure to be a character that will be your favorite.

I’m very excited about next week’s book, The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes by Leonard Goldberg.

What are you currently reading?  Is there a book we can read together?  I look forward to your comments…

Happy Reading!
