Week 5: January 27 – February 2, 2019

Having fallen in love with The Union Street Bakery right away and saw some of myself in Daisy McCrae who finds herself tucking her tail and going home, Sweet Expectations, a Union Street Bakery novel, delves a little deeper into Daisy’s story.

Finally settled into life at the bakery, she’s beginning to understand what it’s really like to be content with her life. Unexpected news leads to chaos, something that seems to follow Daisy around like her shadow, along with a box of recipes, long lost hidden mementos and a mystery to be solved.

Once again, I love this book because of the bakery, the town, the family and of course the food ~ complete with (more) recipes.  I have made Jenna’s Maple Cookies and you should too.

More books by Mary Ellen Taylor , author of timeless women’s fiction, include her latest story Winter Cottage, which I have not yet read, but is definitely on my TBR list (to be read).

I hope you enjoy Sweet Expectations as much as I did.

In the meantime…next week’s book is The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney.

What are you currently reading?  Is there a book we can read together?  I look forward to your comments…

Happy Reading!
